A quarterless raffle is a fun evening of socializing, entertaining and great deals!
There are usually 10 – 15 club members and at least 60 items up for bid each month. Quarters are used to bid on all items and each guest is responsible for bringing their own quarters.
The doors open at 6:00 pm for early bird seating and auction product viewing. The auction starts promptly at 7:00 pm, and is over by 9:00 pm. Guest are asked to arrive early, so as to be in their seats and ready to begin at 7:00 pm.
As each guest arrives, they will choose a Bidding Paddle with an auction number (#1 – 300) and a token will be attached. Both the paddle and places the numbered token in a container provided at the Registration Table. At 7:00 pm the first item will be brought out for bid. The auctioneer will give a description of the item and will tell everyone how much the bid is for that item. The amount of the bid is determined by the retail value of the item being auctioned the vendor determines retail values for the items.
To bid on the item, the guest places their quarter(s) (plastic quarters purchased at the door) in the bucket being passed and holds up their Bidder’s Paddle, which indicates that they are bidding on that item. (Example – if the value of the item of $23, the guest puts one quarter in the bucket in order to bid.)
Once all bids are in (and the buckets are emptied into the appropriate vendor’s bucket), the auctioneer will draw a token out of the container. The number on the token drawn determines who wins the item being auctioned. If the person who holds the winning number did not bid on that item, another number is drawn until the number selected is an active bidder. The empty table buckets are returned and passed around for the next item up for bid.
This process is repeated until all items have been won. You may bid on as few or as many of the items as you want.
COST: $2.00, includes 1 numbered paddle (additional paddles $1)
Only 18 years of age and older allowed; no children other than nursing babies please. No outside food or beverages can be brought in.
